North Beach Gyros

Exceptional and very warm welcoming staff! One of the best restaurants places I’ve been in SF. Nice, cozy interior. Food wise very tasty - meat is very soft, ideally cooked, all starters and flavorful and well balanced.

North Beach Gyro is a clean and cozy spot with a welcoming atmosphere. Tje dining area was well kept and clean. The staff were friendly and polite, and a special shout-out goes to our waiter, Jose, who was super friendly, kind, and genuinely attentive. His positive attitude made our experience more enjoyable and truly unforgettable. We ordered several items and were very satisfied with the food quality. The feta fries were crispy and delicious, with great texture and flavor. The salmon wrap really stood out, juicy, well wrapped, and generously portioned, with no unnecessary spices overpowering the natural taste of the fish. The cilantro sauce served on the side added a fresh and flavorful touch that elevated the dish even more. The falafel wrap was also good, solid and satisfying. Overall, North Beach Gyro is a nice casual spot for a flavorful and filling meal, especially if you enjoy wraps done right. A bit more attention to restroom cleanliness would make the experience even better.

I absolutely love this place! Everything about it is perfect — from the delicious Middle Eastern flavors to the cozy atmosphere and friendly, amazing service. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It’s one of those spots you keep coming back to because everything just feels right. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience here. We ordered the grilled branzino, which I highly recommend, it was incredibly flavorful, served hot, with grilled lemons and crispy skin. We also had the Mesopotamia kebab, which came with hummus and tzatziki sauce, and it was delicious as well. I recommend getting the kebab/skewer over the gyro meat since it was cooked perfectly! The service was outstanding, and we were lucky to have Jose. He was attentive, kind, and truly tied the whole experience together. The restaurant also has a great ambiance. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting!

North Beach Gyros is a gem! The food is fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked — from the juicy gyro meat to the creamy hummus. Oscar provided outstanding service, making us feel truly welcome and cared for. And the baklava? Easily the best I’ve ever had — buttery, flaky, and perfectly sweet. Great portions, fair prices, and a cozy vibe make this place a must-visit in San Francisco.

Absolutely phenomenal! This was easily the best Mediterranean meal I’ve had in San Francisco and I’ve eaten at a lot of places. The flavors were fresh, rich, and perfectly balanced. I ordered the duck, and it was so good I didn’t leave a single crumb on the plate. The owner was hilarious and genuinely friendly, which made the whole experience even better. You can tell he really cares about his food and his guests. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and the service was fast without feeling rushed. If you’re anywhere near the area, this place is a must-try. It’s the kind of spot you leave already planning your next visit.

This review is for Oct 4th 2025. We were visiting the city for my birthday and needed a place that could meet my vegan needs, and that the rest of the fam would like. We found North Beach Gyros, and I'm happy we did! The service was amazing! The owner was so kind, talkative, and helped us decide what to order. The food took a bit long, but I think it's because they make everything fresh. An appetizer came out, I think it was Greek yogurt and then had veggie domas on top. The domas were good, I typically don't like them. They had a couple vegan options on the menu as well as a number of vegetarian items. My family ordered a fish dish, lamb chop or flank, rice, gyro with chicken. It all looked really good. My family loved it, nothing got taken home, it was all finished. My dish was an eggplant dish, it was delicious! The kids even loved it. One order of fries is large enough to share FYI. I definitely want to go back. The owner brought us decaffeinated warm tea and a baklava to share, it was DELICIOUS! It was a Saturday and they had live music, it was a nice atmosphere. The decor is nice, modern, very clean. Tables are set nicely. Very well priced, especially for what you get. We got lucky and got free street parking since it was after 6 p.m. we read there is a parking garage in walkable distance.

Outstanding food & service! Visited from Boston; my brother and I picked this place with no expectations. We were very welcomed and accommodated as guests, not just customers. Specifically, the dolma was heavenly, almost bringing me to tears. I can confidently say that most of the recipes are a great representation of their rich gastronomic tradition.
